Arsenal will square off against Manchester City in the second FA Cup semi-final to be played at Wembley in April. Chelsea, who beat Manchester United on Monday night, will take on Tottenham Hotspur in the first semi-final.
Arsenal, who beat non-League side Lincoln City in their quarter-final encounter at the Emirates on Saturday, were guaranteed tough opponents in the semis after four heavyweights of the Premier League were left in the draw for the first time in many a year. Continue reading
Arsenal legend Sol Campbell has pointed out that the Gunners will need to splash big bucks in the transfer market in order to have a chance at winning the Premier League, or even finish ahead of Tottenham Hotspur, this season.
The Englishman, who has also played for Arsenal’s arch rivals in his career, was quoted telling The Metro: “There’s a long way to go but the way Chelsea are looking at the moment alongside Tottenham and Liverpool – those teams just seem to be a little bit ahead of Arsenal at the moment. All four players, apart from Gibbs, were left at home for Tuesday’s Champions League trip to Ludogorets Razgrad, although Wenger said Bellerin was mainly rested as a precaution. Continue reading
Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey made his return from injury last week and got 70+ minutes under his belt against Ludogorets in the Champions League in midweek, the perfect tune-up he believes for the North London derby this weekend.
While it is not certain that Ramsey will start the derby, the Welsh midfielder believes he is ready to go again, despite the fact that he has had limited playing time and is obviously not yet 100% match fit. Continue reading
