Arsenal open talks over £51 million forward

Arsenal are believed to have opened talks with Borussia Dortmund over the potential summer signing of German international forward Marco Reus as cover for Alexis Sanchez should the Chilean forward continue his contract impasse with the club.

The Metro reports today that Arsenal are prepared to pay as much as £51 million to bring 27 year old Reus to the Emirates, in all likelihood to replace Sanchez, who could well fetch a fee well in excess of that figure should he leave in the summer. Continue reading

Rumours are beginning to gather momentum that Arsenal are lining up a big money summer move for German superstar Marco Reus as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez should the Chilean superstar not budge from his £400,000-per-week salary demands.

Sanchez has an offer from a Chinese Super League club to move East at that pay grade, and his agent continues to hold Arsenal to ransom, despite the Gunners reportedly being ready to break their wage structure to offer Sanchez a salary in excess of  £200,000-per-week to remain at the Emirates. Wenger ready to smash transfer record to sign Bundesliga superstar

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has certainly become desperate to sign Borussia Dortmund ace Marco Reus. According to reports in German publication SportBild, the Frenchman is now considering smashing the Gunners’ transfer record by paying £48m to sign the player in the weeks to come.

It is reported that there has been no official bid from any side for the winger this summer; however, it is also believed that Wenger is now seriously interested in landing the player, who has been understood to be a long term target for the club.

Meanwhile, Napoli attacker Manolo Gabbiadini has said that his teammate Gonzalo Higuain, who is believed to be a target for the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea this summer, will not be sold by his club at any cost.
