Arsenal fans’ dream of seeing Jackson Martinez in a Gunners shirt may never be fulfilled now…not in the near future, at least! According to a startling revelation made by the player’s agent Luiz Henrique Pompeo, the Colombian has agreed a deal to move to Atletico Madrid this summer.

Pompeo was quoted telling Spanish publication AS: “It [the deal to move to Atletico] was finalised today… It [Atletico] is a very big club, which has done important things in the league and in Europe. Arsenal great Thierry Henry has said that Porto forward Jackson Martinez would be a great signing for his former club this summer.

The Frenchman was quoted in The Metro, saying: “He can be a good fit. You already have the likes of Giroud who looks a bit like him as as striker in the way they play, with their back to the goal. He can be a good addition. He had a good season in the Champions League but you have guys already.”
