Former Arsenal fan favourite announces international retirement

Veteran German forward and former Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski on Monday announced his retirement from international football, ending a 13-year career, to focus on his club football and family.

Arsenal’s star Frenchman edging closer to exit

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is finally looking set to bid adieu to club veteran Matheiu Flamini, with reports in The Daily Mail revealing that Galatasaray have become interested in signing the 31 year old today.

Flamini, who joined the Gunners for the second time, in the summer of 2013, has fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium, with Wenger placing immense faith in Francis Coquelin in recent times. And as a result of that, it is believed that the player may be allowed to move now, with Wenger himself known to be open to that prospect.

Merely days after Lukas Podolski’s transfer from Arsenal to Galatasaray, another Turkish side is again being linked with a move for a Gunners forward. Wenger can land 22-goals-a-season forward for just £17.8m

Arsenal are reported to be preparing a £17.8m bid to sign their long term target, Real Madrid ace Karim Benzema, this summer, according to reports in The Metro. What’s more – it is even believed that Los Blancos are open to the prospect of selling the Frenchman for that bargain fee in this transfer window.

It is understood that Real’s new manager Rafael Benitez is uninterested in keeping hold of the player this summer, with him likely to resort to playing Cristiano Ronaldo and/or Gareth Bale as part of his formation, in which he will play one or two forwards.
