Arsenal’s football club’s record signing Mesut Ozil is not playing his A-game, as per chief coach Arsene Wenger as they prepare to face Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League pre-quarterfinals on Wednesday.

Arsenal superstar wins coveted award for the FIFTH time!

Arsenal ace Mesut Ozil has another feather to boast of, in his cap, with the player having been adjudged Germany’s Player of the Year for 2016, winning 54.5% of the total votes polled.

The World Cup winner has won this award for the 5th time now, with compatriot Toni Kroos coming second with 33.9% of the votes and Jonas Hector taking the third position with 4% of the votes.

Ozil wants Wenger to commit first

German international Mesut Ozil might have spent the better part of the last two weeks in bed recovering from a throat infection, but that hasn’t stopped the Arsenal playmaker from giving an interview to German Magazine Kicker.

Wenger confirms contract extensions for Arsenal stalwarts

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger confirmed yesterday that the Gunners will exercise the options that already exist in the contract of Santi Cazorla and Per Mertesacker to extend their stay at the Emirates.

Both players are out of contract this summer, but Wenger shared today that Arsenal had already built in clauses into their original contracts which gave the club an option to extend their present deals by another year, an option he intends to take with both aging veterans. Continue reading

Wenger shares who’s in and out for FA Cup tie with Preston

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger revealed that he will rest a few key players for the Gunners’ FA Cup third round clash with Preston North End this weekend.

Speaking to the press today, Wenger revealed, “I haven’t decided on the team yet. It depends on everyone’s fitness levels but we will play with around 90% of the first team squad. I will rest Alexis Sanchez and Mezut Ozil, who is coming in today after having been in bed for two weeks with a suspected throat infection. Arsenal striker picks up injury in draw with Bournemouth

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger revealed in his press conference today that another Gunner has picked up an injury and will as a result miss the FA Cup tie with Preston North End this weekend.

The unfortunate player in question is summer signing Lucas Perez, who would have surely started that game had been fit, and it would have done the Spaniard some good to get a run of games under his belt as he looks to find his best form. Continue reading
