Shkodran Mustafi: “We never give up”

Arsenal’s summer signing Shkodran Mustafi showed his value in both boxes today, scoring the Gunners’ first goal against Burnley before helping them chase the match winner as Arsenal scored late in the game to secure a crucial 2-1 win that took the Gunners second in the Premier League standings.

Speaking after the game, Mustafi said, “We played in their half for most of the game and then you are a man down – it becomes difficult. I think we did well, even when it went to 1-1. It was a typical Sunday afternoon for Arsenal fans at the Emirates, put through the wringer emotionally by the side they love, and rescued right at the death by Chilean superstar Alexis Sanchez, who despite missing 3 of his last 4 penalties showed the calmness and petulance that one has come to expect with greatness as he stroked home the winner for the home team in the 98th minute of the game.

Injury Updates ahead of Crystal Palace clash

Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger provided an update on three players ahead of the visit of Crystal Palace to the Emirates for the clash on New Year’s Day.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger revealed that many of his walking wounded are on the mend, but are unlikely to be available for selection for the visit of West Bromwich Albion to the Emirates on Monday.

Wenger provides Mustafi injury update

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger confirmed that German centre back Shkodran Mustafi will be ruled out until the new year with the hamstring injury he sustained in yesterday’s win against Stoke City at the Emirates.
