Wenger keen to sign Algerian sensation as alternative to Mahrez

Arsenal may have been defeated in their pursuit of Leicester City ace Riyad Mahrez after the player put pen to paper on a new long term deal at his club; however, as per reports in The Sunday Mirror now, the Gunners’ boss Arsene Wenger is eyeing a potential move for Porto playmaker Yacine Brahimi now.

It is understood that Brahimi, who, coincidentally, is also Mahrez’s compatriot, is himself desperate to move away from his current side, and may be open to the prospect of moving to the Emirates Stadium in the days to come.

Arsenal may have succeeded in signing only one marquee player in this year’s transfer market; however, manager Arsene Wenger seems to be still unwilling to loosen the strings of his purse. According to a revelation made by L’Equipe journalist Gilles Favard, the north London giants have tabled a second bid of £35m for Leicester City superstar Riyad Mahrez – one that may surely be turned down by the Foxes in the days to come. The Gunners have already seen a £30m offer being rejected for the same player.

Club owner provides massive update on future of key Arsenal target

Arsenal fans, who must have been hoping to see Leicester City star RIyad Mahrez plying his trade for their side, are in for a big disappointment. As per reports in the press, the reigning English champions’ co-owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha has made it clear that the player isn’t going away from King Power Stadium anytime soon.

The boss reportedly posted a picture of himself with the highly rated Algerian, who was adjudged last season’s PFA Player of the Year, on Instagram whilst revealing his intention to hold on to him this summer.

Wenger reacts to Mahrez and Lacazette rumours

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger held a press conference at the Stubhub Center on Saturday as the Gunners prepared for their pre-season clash with Chivas.

Predictably Wenger was quizzed about the Gunners’ transfer targets, specifically asked about Arsenal’s rumoured interest in Riyad Mahrez and Alexandre Laccazette. The Gunners boss responded by saying, “The best way to conclude transfers is not to talk about them, which is very difficult in the press conference! Vardy asks Mahrez to reject Arsenal too!

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy says it was an “easy” decision to reject Arsenal and hopes teammate Riyad Mahrez will follow him by staying at the club. Arsenal attempted to lure the 29-year-old to the Emirates Stadium in June after triggering a release clause in his contract with a 20 million pound bid.

However, Vardy, who was away on international duty with England at Euro 2016 at the time, turned down the chance to join the Gunners and instead committed his future to the EPL champions by signing a new four-year deal. Continue reading

If you can’t get Vardy, grab Mahrez instead!!!

Arsenal may have been unsuccessful in their quest to sign Jamie Vardy this summer from Premier League champions Leicester City, but they do appear to be having better luck with Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez with Algerian publication Le Buteur  reporting this afternoon that the Gunners should wrap up the African’s capture before the weekend is out.

Gunners table shock bid to sign sensational African!

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger seems to be in no mood to conclude his raid on Premier League champions Leicester City, if reports by Tancredi Palmeri are to be believed. According to a revelation made by the transfer expert, the Gunners have made the Foxes a £25m offer in order to sign their star attacker Riyad Mahrez.

Palmeri also went on to reveal that the Gunners held several meetings with the player’s representatives before tabling the bid, and that he himself is open to the prospect of moving to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
