Wenger reacts to Mahrez and Lacazette rumours

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger held a press conference at the Stubhub Center on Saturday as the Gunners prepared for their pre-season clash with Chivas.

Predictably Wenger was quizzed about the Gunners’ transfer targets, specifically asked about Arsenal’s rumoured interest in Riyad Mahrez and Alexandre Laccazette. The Gunners boss responded by saying, “The best way to conclude transfers is not to talk about them, which is very difficult in the press conference! Lyon Manager reacts to Arsenal’s improved offer for Lacazette

After news surfaced this morning that Arsenal had upped their offer for Alexandre Lacazette to nearly 34 million pounds, it was just a matter of time that his outspoken French club Lyon respond to the rumour.

On this occasion it is the French side’s Manager Bruno Genesio who has rebuffed Arsenal’s interest telling the press, “I have discussions with Lacazette. It’s my job to ask these players to be there. They are honest discussions between a coach and a player. We will not lose Lacazette, I am confident.” Continue reading

Wenger makes final decision on key summer target

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has decided to loosen the strings of his purse a little in order to land Olympique Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette this summer. According to reports in Squawka, the boss has decided to table an improved bid of £33.7m for the player, and it is understood that he may not spend any further on him.

The Ligue 1 giants are believed to have already rejected the north Londoners’ opening offer of £29.5m for the highly rated striker. And while Wenger’s new offer is a significant improvement on his earlier one, it still falls considerably short of Lyon’s demands of £40m, plus bonuses, for their player.

Wenger reacts to Lyon statement and Lacazette rumour

Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger was far from pleased when he was forced to respond to questions about the Gunners’ interest in French striker Alexandre Lacazette, this after Lyon had released a statement declaring Arsenal’s bid for the 25 year old striker.

Wenger, who prefers to do his business behind closed doors, reacted in predictable fashion when questioned about whether he would make an improved offer for Lacazette, after Arsenal’s initial bid believed to be in the region of nearly 30 million pounds was rejected by Lyon. Continue reading

Club ready to sell sensational forward to Arsenal, only if…

 Arsenal have been boosted in their pursuit of Olympique Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, with the Ligue 1 side known to have finally become ready to sell him. However, as per reports in The Daily Mirror, the north London giants will have to splash out at least £40m, plus bonuses, in order to bring the player to the Emirates Stadium and succeed in their endeavours.

It is believed that the Gunners have already failed with a £29.3m offer for the player, with West Ham United having also had a bid of around £32m rejected for him. Additionally, Lyon themselves would prefer to hold on to Lacazette this summer, with the side known to be considering him ‘irreplaceable’.

Arsenal’s £30m offer for hitman rejected

Arsenal’s search for a new striker to lead their line continues to hit road blocks with the Gunners’ 35 million euro offer for French striker Alexandre Lacazette having been rejected by Lyon.

Real agree to sell Benzema

The latest update pertaining to Karim Benzema’s transfer saga is here…according to a revelation made by former England international Rodney Marsh, Arsenal are on the verge of landing Karim Benzema from Real Madrid, with the Gunners understood to have got their bid for the player accepted by the La Liga giants.

Meanwhile, reports in The Metro have revealed that Real president Florentino Perez is plotting to wash his hands off the Frenchman this summer. And this, in turn, has provided the north London side with a massive boost in his transfer race, with the club now set to land him for a transfer fee of around £46m.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger’s hopes of signing youngster Sergi Samper from Barcelona have taken a massive hit with reports in Sport revealing that the Catalans are keen to hold on to the player this summer and will even provide him with the offer of a significant amount of first team game time to keep him at Nou Camp in the times to come.
