Bayern Munich have confirmed the sale of German striker Mario Gomez to Fiorentina for a fee of 13.7 million pounds. The forward, who scored 113 goals in 174 appearances for Bayern, found himself sidelined at the German club after the arrival of Mario Mandzukic last season, and wished to leave for Fiorentina, Bayern’s chairman confirmed. Bayern Munich’s scintillating forward Mario Gomez is believed to be looking for a move away from the Allianz Arena this summer. The 27 year old, who arrived at the club in July 2009 still has 3 years left on his contract with the Bavarians but it is unlikely that Gomez would be willing to honour it.
