10-man Arsenal snatch dramatic late winner against Burnley

It was a typical Sunday afternoon for Arsenal fans at the Emirates, put through the wringer emotionally by the side they love, and rescued right at the death by Chilean superstar Alexis Sanchez, who despite missing 3 of his last 4 penalties showed the calmness and petulance that one has come to expect with greatness as he stroked home the winner for the home team in the 98th minute of the game.

Trio return to Arsenal squad for Burnley game

Arsenal have received a triple injury boost ahead of the visit of Burnley to the Emirates this weekend with the Gunners welcoming Hector Bellerin, Francis Coquelin and Kieran Gibbs to full training this week and all three players in contention to make the squad for this weekend’s clash.

Bellerin has missed a couple of weeks after struggling horribly in the game away to Bournemouth where he was carrying an injury and was twice robbed off the ball as Arsenal conceded cheap goals. It will be interesting to see whether he will go straight back into Arsenal’s starting eleven or be kept in reserve by Manager Arsene Wenger. Continue reading

Breaking News: Arsenal trio ink new deals

Coming shortly on the heels of Arsene Wenger’s announcement on his decision to exercise the one year extension on the Arsenal contracts of veteran duo Per Mertesacker and Santi Cazorla, Arsenal have also secured the futures of their French trio – Olivier Giroud, Laurent Koscielny and Francis Coquelin.

Arsenal announced the new deals through their official website, with Arsene Wenger saying, “We are very pleased that three important members of our team have committed to us for the long term. Arsenal striker picks up injury in draw with Bournemouth

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger revealed in his press conference today that another Gunner has picked up an injury and will as a result miss the FA Cup tie with Preston North End this weekend.

The unfortunate player in question is summer signing Lucas Perez, who would have surely started that game had been fit, and it would have done the Spaniard some good to get a run of games under his belt as he looks to find his best form. Continue reading

Wenger provides injury update on walking wounded

Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger provided an update on the injury status of many members of his squad after they were put through the ringer by Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium last night.

Coquelin injury update – not as bad as feared

Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger on Tuesday confirmed that midfielder Francis Coquelin has been ruled out of action for around three weeks with a knee injury.

Wenger provides key player injury update

The one blot on Arsene Wenger’s copy book at the end of Arsenal’s 3-0 win against Chelsea in the Premier League tonight was the loss of key midfielder Francis Coquelin to injury after the Frenchman walked off the pitch in pain having made  key block to deny Chelsea a goal scoring opportunity in the first half.

Coquelin was withdrawn shortly after the half hour mark and replaced by Granit Xhaka, who followed up his 90 minutes in midweek with another 60 minutes in an Arsenal shirt today. Continue reading

Coquelin identifies PSG’s danger men

Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin has been keeping a close eye on Paris St. Germain over the last few weeks as the reigning French champions have stuttered after their match-winning start to the 2016-17 season.
