Two Arsenal defenders also head out on loan

While the Gunners might not have enjoyed transfer deadline day on or off the pitch, there were Arsenal players continuing to head out on loan spells deep into the night with a couple of defenders just about beating the 11pm deadline.

Highly talented Pole Krystian Bielik, who joined Arsenal as a midfielder amongst quite a bit of fan fare a couple of seasons back, has been converted into a centre back during his time with the Arsenal reserves, and will continue his education at Birmingham City for the second half of this season, joining them on loan. New signing puts in strong performance for Poland’s Under 17 side

Arsenal’s winter transfer window signing Krystian Bielik made an appearance for Poland’s Under 17 side, playing the full 90 minutes of the team’s 1-0 win over Ireland, courtesy of a Pawel Kaczmarczyk goal.

The youngster’s performance was a good one, and is understood to have satisfied Arsenal’s talent spotters who were keeping an eye on him during the game.

Winter signing makes first appearance for Arsenal

Arsenal’s winter transfer window purchase Krystian Bielik made his first appearance for Arsenal’s Under 18s, starting against Norwich City in the match between the sides on Saturday. However, the Polish youngster, who cost the north Londoners £2m in January, committed a big blunder which resulted in Norwich scoring their second goal, with the match finally ending 3-1 in favour of the Canaries.

To be fair, Bielik had a few good moments in the match, as he fought for possession early on, and even set up Tyrell Robinson on goal, with the latter rattling the woodwork with his attempt. However, he was overpowered by 3 Norwich City players later in the game, following which they scored.

Wenger heaps praise on new signing

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has lauded new signing Krystian Bielik, calling him promising and showing positive signs.

The Frenchman was quoted telling Arsenal Player: “I would say, considering his age, he’s more one for the future. But let’s be open minded and let [him] surprise us. The first signs that we see are very positive in training. Because they had the winter break in Poland, we are just at the starting point of building him up fitness-wise. He’s a young boy and he has a huge talent.”

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has shed light on his team’s composition ahead of their FA Cup fourth round match against Brighton & Hove Albion, according to reports in

The Frenchman revealed that it is uncertain whether Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be able to make it to the team for the match, or not. The player has had an inflammation of his groin problem and tests will determine when he will be ready to play again.

Marco Verratti’s agent has said that his client will not be bidding adieu to Paris Saint-Germain, in order to serve as ‘a bargaining chip’ to land Paul Pogba, thus providing the latter’s suitors Arsenal with major boost in his chase. Donato Di Campli told Tele Radio Stereo 92.7: “Everyone speaks well of Verratti. I want to emphasise, with all due respect to Pogba, that Marco is not a bargaining chip to anyone. If one day someone decides to knock on the door of Paris Saint-Germain, they will only do so to buy Verratti, to come to terms with the French club. And, again, they will not try to get to Verratti by inserting him in a negotiation that involves other players.”

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that Krystian Bielik is on the verge of a move to the Emirates Stadium. The Frenchman also told that a fee for the player’s move had been agreed and that he was having a medical at the club.
