Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has made it clear that he is ready to take a gamble in the transfer market in the days to come.
The Frenchman showcased an understanding side to his nature, whilst telling reporters: “Of course, there’s pressure to keep up with them (Arsenal’s rivals). All of them have spent more money but only one can win the title. There is always time to take a gamble and we are not against taking a gamble.”

Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema is believed to be ready to move to Arsenal in the days to come, provided the north London giants agree to splash out at least £50m to land him at the Emirates Stadium, according to reports in The Daily Star. Los Blancos manager Rafael Benitez, however, is still believed to be desperate to hold on to the player in the times to come. (read more)
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is understood to have finally decided to make a move for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Lars Bender. According to reports in The Sunday People, the north London giants are now believed to be gearing up to make a £18m transfer bid to sign the highly rated German.
It is believed that the boss is having doubts over the futures of the duo of Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini, and their ability to be an asset for the side this season. Additionally, it is believed that the Frenchman is also looking for a good player to act as cover for the injury-prone Jack Wilshere, which is why Bender has emerged as an important target for him.
Arsenal are understood to have had their target, Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Lars Bender, watched during his side’s Champions League playoffs match against Lazio earlier this week, according to reports in Tuttomercatoweb.
It is believed that the talent spotters from the north London club were very happy with what they saw, which in turn has led to the belief that the club may make a move for the player very soon.

Arsenal are believed to have come scintillatingly close to signing Karim Benzema from Real Madrid, with Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli revealing that the player will be brought to the north London club in a chartered plane, ahead of his medical on Monday. And it is believed that the Frenchman will then be unveiled as a player for the side just before their match against Liverpool on the same day.

Arsenal left back Nacho Monreal is understood to have verbally agreed to put pen to paper on a new contract at the Emirates Stadium, according to reports in Mundo Deportivo. As part of the new deal, the player will be earning £75,000-a-week at the club, which translates to wages of nearly £3.9m per year.

Arsenal are understood to have tabled a bid of an undisclosed amount to sign Napoli attacker Jose Callejon, according to reports in The Metro. No contact for Higuain yet, reveals agent
The agent of Napoli forward Gonzalo Higuain has revealed that no club has contacted him regarding the prospect of signing the player as yet, despite him being linked with a move to the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool this summer. Agent Nicolas Higuain, who is also the player’s brother, told Radio Crc: “No club has asked me about Higuain, and I wonder why De Laurentiis [Napoli president] keeps talking about the clause.” (read more)
