Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger’s hopes of signing Olympique Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette this summer have been dealt a massive blow, with the French side’s president Jean-Michel Aulas making it clear that the player is not for sale at any cost in the near future.
Aulas was quoted telling French newspaper Le Progres: “Alexandre is irreplaceable. It would be a professional mistake to sell him.”
Olympique Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has said that their domestic rivals Paris Saint-Germain do not have the financial means to sign their forward, and Arsenal target, Alexandre Lacazette.
Aulas was quoted in The Metro, saying: “PSG are not rich enough to be able to make us an offer that will make us take a step back.”
Arsenal have been provided with a massive boost in the race for their long term target Yoann Gourcuff. According to reports in the press, Olympique Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas has admitted that they will not be offering him a new contract, and that he may move away from the club soon.
Aulas was quoted telling Canal+: “It’s going to stop, yes. It’s with a little bit of nostalgia. He’s a great player who hasn’t been able to settle. The best thing that could have happened was that he would have shown he is a great player with us. It’s not good news for him, that’s true.”
