Arsenal have been boosted in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with the player indicating that he may be open to the prospect of a move away from Signal Iduna Park in the near future.
The Gabonese international was quoted telling Fussball Bild: “No one can predict the future… I cannot say that I’ll stay for another two, five or 10 years. It is possible that in June a club comes to an agreement with Dortmund.”
Borussia Dortmund have revealed that they would be open to the prospect of selling their prized possession, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is known to be a target for Arsenal for quite a while now, if they receive in excess of €70m for him, according to reports in German publication Bild.
Dortmund’s director Hans-Joachim Watzke was recently reported having said that the side would sell the Gabonese sensation, who is also known to be a target for the likes of Chelsea and Real Madrid, should they receive the right kind of cash for him, and now news reports have finally revealed how much that amount may be.
For the first time in a very long time, Arsenal probably have a squad on paper that is more than capable of winning the Premier League title, and as such don’t need any significant repair work in the January transfer window to make the squad better.
As always when going shopping, one will need to look at specific players and decide whether that person will genuinely improve the options we presently have at our disposal, and the one factor I like to take into account in January is whether that signing can walk into our first eleven straight away and make a difference, otherwise it makes no sense to just splash money at a problem that doesn’t exist. Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has brought a clashing halt to rumours linking him with a move to Arsenal this winter by declaring rather vehemently that he has absolutely no interest in joining the Gunners.
The 27 year old Gabon striker, who has been in red hot form this season, scoring 24 goals in 23 games, was linked with a move to North London at the start of the winter transfer window with newspaper reports suggesting that Arsene Wenger was ready to break the bank to sign a striker that could power Arsenal to the Premier League title this season. Any hopes that Arsenal had of signing former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez have been quickly quashed by Bayer Leverkusen Sporting Director Rudi Voller.
The former German international was quick to dismiss speculation linking Chicharito with a move to Arsenal, telling the press today, “We’re not selling Chicharito to Arsenal or anyone else. He’s not for sale. It’s easy to reject offers when you are in a position in which you don’t need to sell. We are in such a position. We will keep the players we want to help us achieve our goals. Chicharito has played a big part in our success so far, through his style of play, through his goals. That’s why we brought him here. In the first half of the season, everything has worked out fine.” Continue reading →
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is still understood to be keeping tabs on Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. It is believed that the Frenchman has been keen on signing Karim Benzema from Real Madrid this summer; however, according to reports in El Confidencial, the boss is viewing the Gabonese ace as the perfect alternative to the French striker, in case Arsenal fail with their attempts to sign the latter.
The north London giants have been linked with Aubameyang for quite a while now. It is believed that they had even tabled a bid for him sometime back, which Dortmund rejected straightaway before the player extended his contract at the Signal Iduna Park.
The Karim Benzema transfer saga simply refuses to end, with Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianellinow revealing that the player is set to sign for Arsenal in the next few days. Giulianelli has revealed that the north London giants have tabled a £45m transfer offer to sign the Frenchman and that Real Madrid are set to accept it now.
And they are still chasing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang too
Meanwhile, Arsenal are still understood to be following Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang too, with the club likely to make a move for him if they fail to convince Karim Benzema to move to the Emirates Stadium in this transfer window, according to reports in The Metro. The Bundesliga giants, meanwhile, are known to be uninterested in parting ways with the player anytime soon. (read more)
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is clearly in no mood to concede defeat in his attempts to sign Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema this summer. According to reports in Spanish publication AS, the north Londoners have contacted the Spanish giants once again regarding the possibility of signing the player, with the club even ready to break their own transfer record and splash out £45.8m to land him.
Furthermore, reports in The Daily Telegraph have even revealed that Wenger is open to the prospect of making his compatriot the highest earner at the Emirates Stadium, in order to lure him to the club.
