Who do Arsenal need in the January transfer window?

For the first time in a very long time, Arsenal probably have a squad on paper that is more than capable of winning the Premier League title, and as such don’t need any significant repair work in the January transfer window to make the squad better.

As always when going shopping, one will need to look at specific players and decide whether that person will genuinely improve the options we presently have at our disposal, and the one factor I like to take into account in January is whether that signing can walk into our first eleven straight away and make a difference, otherwise it makes no sense to just splash money at a problem that doesn’t exist. Voller tells Arsenal “He’s not for sale.”

Any hopes that Arsenal had of signing former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez have been quickly quashed by Bayer Leverkusen Sporting Director Rudi Voller.

The former German international was quick to dismiss speculation linking Chicharito with a move to Arsenal, telling the press today, “We’re not selling Chicharito to Arsenal or anyone else. He’s not for sale. It’s easy to reject offers when you are in a position in which you don’t need to sell. We are in such a position. We will keep the players we want to help us achieve our goals. Chicharito has played a big part in our success so far, through his style of play, through his goals. That’s why we brought him here. In the first half of the season, everything has worked out fine.” Continue reading
