The introduction of Mesut Ozil for a hamstrung Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain just before the half hour mark sparked a sluggish Arsenal into action, who got the go ahead goal just before half-time through Theo Walcott, before running away with the game in the second period, handing out a 5-0 thrashing to Lincoln City to motor into the semi-finals of the FA Cup for the 29th time in their history.
After a poor run of games in the last few weeks, Arsenal and their fans both needed lifting, and the visit of National League side Lincoln City, some 87 places behind the Gunners in the English football hierarchy meant an opportunity was there for a beleaguered Arsene Wenger to get the fans back on his side. A brace for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez earned the Gunners a controversial 2-0 win over a Hull City side that battled hard at the Emirates and probably deserved to get something from the game.
Arsenal coming in to this game on the back of consecutive defeats, made just the one change to their struggling side, bringing in Kieran Gibbs for Nacho Monreal. Continue reading
Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger was once again forced to defend another show of disappointment from Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez, who was far from pleased at being replaced even with the Gunners leading 4-0 in the game against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.
Sanchez threw what is quickly becoming his weekly tantrum after he was subbed with about 10 minutes left in the game with the result in little doubt. Continue reading
Rumours of Alexis Sanchez’s exit from Arsenal just don’t seem to be going away with French media house Maxifoot and Spanish daily Don Balon both talking up moves for the Chilean superstar this summer.
Maxifoot throws its weight behind one of the rumours that has been doing the rounds in recent weeks that Paris St. Germain are encouraging Sanchez not to pen a new deal with Arsenal, and will plot a £60m move for him in the summer with the Gunners left with no option but to sell. Continue reading

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger praised his side’s battling qualities, mental strength and refusal to give up while complaining about pretty much everything else after the Gunners overturned a 3-0 deficit in the last 20 minutes of their game against Bournemouth to leave Dean Court with a share of the spoils.
Wenger said about his team after the game, “It was a physical and mental test – they started much faster but we showed we are mentally strong. At 3-0 down after 70 minutes you’d take a point, but in the end we were frustrated not to win the game.” Continue reading
Arsenal’s superstar forward Alexis Sanchez listens to music and even plays a bit of piano to relax off the field, the Chilean said.
“I have many ways of relaxing, such as listening to music, walking the dogs in the park and drinking mate (a traditional South American caffeine drink),” Sanchez told Arsenal Player. Continue reading
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger asked for all the naysayers looking to derail the Gunners’ title ambitions with talk of rumoured exits for Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil to calm down, insisting that the club will do everything in their power to hang on to the superstar duo.
Amidst rumours that have been floating around in recent weeks that Sanchez and Ozil have asked for salaries in the region of 20 million pounds a year, well in excess of the Gunners’ wage structure, Wenger dismissed talk that Arsenal will be unable to hold on to their superstars, just when things appear to be going well for the club.
