After crashing out 1-0 to a poor Blackburn Rovers side to end our last realistic hope for silverware, it is but natural that this post becomes an emotional one.
Let me make my position clear though before I start. I love Arsene Wenger just as much as I love Arsenal, and have defended him through thick and thin, through bar room brawls and street fights, through bloody upper lips and knees to the groin. But surely at some stage one has to draw the line and say enough is enough, and tonight is that night.
Mind you, no one will be more disappointed at Arsenal’s FA Cup exit tonight than Wenger. After all, he’s not just our manager, but also the club’s no.1 fan. However, a time comes in everyone’s life when one needs to move on, and Arsene’s time at Arsenal is now just feeling like a bad marriage which is agonizing on the kids.
Yes, we dominated the game. Yes, Gervinho should have scored. Yes, we were unlucky that Rosicky hit the bar. Yes, Walcott should have got a late penalty. Yes, Blackburn’s goal was a bloody fluke.
So, what’s Wenger got to do with all this. Sadly everything. The 11 men he choose to send out to battle today were his decision, and saving our players for Bayern Munich is just ridiculous. Lets face it, everyone knows we’re not going to beat them. They aren’t runaway leaders in the Bundesliga for nothing. And, the fact that we have so many ‘rubbish’ players on our books to complete the ‘squad’ is after all Wenger’s fault. Every year we hear about a clear out, and every year we hear about Arsenal’s youngsters needing one more year. Well Arsene, the Arsenal fans want our last 8 years back!
And once again that oh so crucial week in February will end us. Don’t be surprised if we crash and burn at home to Christian Benteke and Aston Villa in the league at the weekend either.

our mid-field is good for having Rosisky, Carzola, and Jack. We do need a good striker and Giroud is just wasting opportunities. I think it is time to give Walcott or Poldiski to be a striker. Podolski would be a lethal striker. He rarely waste chances. If we go against Byren with Giroud, I hope we have no chance to win!!!!!

I do understand the frustration, however, I do not see ANY other available coach getting better results with the current squad then what Mr Wenger does.
Would you expect City to be a contender for any title if they got rid of Kompany, Aguero and some other players in a few years and replaced them with good, but not super duper world class players?
Do not get me wrong, I like Giroud a lot, but he is no Van Persie, and I adore Cazorla, but he is not a Fabregas
We do have a solid team, but we do not have a great team, with a few key positions definitely lacking in depth and quality, like you mention.

Well, if we should start to believe that we can not win against the top clubs in the world, why should we be then demand to be considered a top club?
If Blackburn could win against us today, then we can knock out Bayern, simple as that. A Chelsea totally out of shape managed to win the Champions League last year mainly by pure luck, passing through both the semi finals and the final with some of the most unfair results I have ever seen taking place on football stadiums.

Saving players for CL was the correct decision to make. We face one of the strongest possible sides on the planet on tuesday, and to stand a chance we need well rested key players.
And as for pointing finger and finding someone to blame: as long as we are owned by a guy like Kroenke, who´s enterprise is more about the money and less about the result and quality of the squad, we will always struggle to find consistency.
The reason for Kroenke to buy more then 60 percent was obviously to gain full control of business to himself to be able to continue to suck the most money out of the club for the least possible spending. It is his strategy in every clubs he takes over and ruins.
Look at his other clubs. Colorado Avalanches was one of the top clubs in NHL when Kroenke took over. During the years Kroenke Enterprise have ran the club it have turned into one of the weaker teams in NHL, struggling to get through to play offs every year.
For example, after their worst season ever, 2008-2009, what do you think Kroenke did first thing between seasons?

And look at his basketball team, Denver Nuggets. Just last year the guy forced through a multi player trade on a match day so they had to attend a match with only nine players available.

Now Kroenke already have started looking at the opportunity of taking the team out of St Louis and move them to an arena in a town where he already owns the stadium, to make some more money.

I called 6th place no silverware beginning of season. I called no material signings during Jan window in December. I reiterate my position – 6th place finish, no silverware. Early call for the summer – either wenger goes or get ready for average signings to replace the dead wood being shipped out.
