Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly talking over a deal to bring Napoli midfielder Juan Camilo Zuniga to the Emirates in January as reports in Italian press claim that negotiations are currently on between the two clubs.
Zuniga joined Napoli in 2009 and has since played close to 90 games, scoring 4 goals in the process. He has the ability to play as a left-winger or in the left-back position but has been battling for his spot in the team with Andrea Dossena who has been preferred over the Colombian. His contract in Naples runs till 2014 and the Italian club are unwilling to let him leave this summer but fear they could lose him for much less next season.
The Gunners have faced problems on the left flank in both defence and attack this campaign. Andre Santos is set to leave the club after falling out-of-favor with Wenger leaving Kieran Gibbs as the only recognized left-back. Lukas Podolski remains the club’s genuine source of attack from the left side and with Wenger being promised that money is available to spend, Zuniga could prove to be an exciting prospect for the Gunners to help them challenge domestically and in Europe.
