David Ospina – 6 – Made a hash of Costa’s strike that allowed Chelsea to get back in the game, but had a very respectable outing otherwise. Made 4 very good saves.
Rob Holding – 7 – Given his age and lack of experience, Holding certainly showed he has a terrific future at Arsenal.
Per Mertesacker – 8 – Outstanding performance from veteran German – even more so considering his lack of playing time this season.
Nacho Monreal – 7 – Showed his versatility once again and put in another very creditable performance
Hector Bellerin – 7 – Pace to burn, but his final product whether shooting or passing was sadly lacking.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 6 – Solid defensively, but couldn’t really impact the game much getting forward.
Granit Xhaka – 9 – His best game of the season in an Arsenal shirt, Granit finally showed when he was worth the money Arsene Wenger spent on him in the summer.
Aaron Ramsey – 8 – His running off the ball, game awareness and ability to be the fourth man in attack was excellent. Put in a very good shift defensively too, and scored the match winner at Wembley yet again!
Mesut Ozil – 7 – Bossed the game in the first half, and was unlucky not to score in the second. He certainly didn’t go missing in this big game, but did lose the ball to David Luiz in the Arsenal half that resulted in Costa’s goal. His tackle on Eden Hazard in the first half epitomized how much this game meant to him.
Alexis Sanchez – 7 – Terrific hunger to score the goal that put Arsenal on the front foot. Produced an excellent pass for Bellerin in the second half. Put in a good shift defensively too.
Danny Welbeck – 6 – Stretched the Chelsea defence repeatedly, and was instrumental in getting Arsenal forward. He was unlucky to see his header come back off the post.
Olivier Giroud – 8 – 38 seconds is all it took for Giroud to make an impact on the game.
Francis Coquelin – 6 – Came on got booked, did a job.
Mohamed Elneny – NA – Brief cameo that saw him actually get into some advanced positions!
