Arsenal will square off against Manchester City in the second FA Cup semi-final to be played at Wembley in April. Chelsea, who beat Manchester United on Monday night, will take on Tottenham Hotspur in the first semi-final.
Arsenal, who beat non-League side Lincoln City in their quarter-final encounter at the Emirates on Saturday, were guaranteed tough opponents in the semis after four heavyweights of the Premier League were left in the draw for the first time in many a year.
Despite the odds being against it, Arsenal did avoid a premature London derby in the semi-finals at Wembley and will instead square off against Manchester City, who beat Middlesbrough in the first of this weekend’s four quarter-finals.
Should Arsenal beat Manchester City to advance to their third FA Cup final in four years, they will be guaranteed local London opposition with the Gunners’ north London neighbours Tottenham taking on Premier League leaders Chelsea in the other semi-final.
The matches will be played on April 22nd and 23rd.
