Wenger shares who’s in and out for FA Cup tie with Preston

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger revealed that he will rest a few key players for the Gunners’ FA Cup third round clash with Preston North End this weekend.

Speaking to the press today, Wenger revealed, “I haven’t decided on the team yet. It depends on everyone’s fitness levels but we will play with around 90% of the first team squad. I will rest Alexis Sanchez and Mezut Ozil, who is coming in today after having been in bed for two weeks with a suspected throat infection. Apart from that, everyone else will play as the FA cup is a big priority for us”.

Wenger also shared that defender Laurent Koscielny was struggling with a thigh injury and could also be left out of the squad travelling to Deepdale.

Unfortunately for Arsenal, Lucas Perez and Francis Coquelin are also expected to miss the game with the former nursing an ankle injury and the other out of action for a month with a hamstring injury.

Wenger also revealed that David Ospina will be in goal for Arsenal for the FA Cup tie.
