Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger today ruled out the possibility of signing West Ham United playmaker Dmitri Payet in the January transfer window.
29 year old French international Payet is known to be available for a transfer fee in the 30 million pound range after having gone on strike at his club and refusing to play for the Hammers in an attempt to force a move away from the club.
Wenger was quizzed today whether he would have any interest in signing Payet, and the 67 year old Frenchman said, “I rate Payet but I don’t need Payet because we have so many creative players. We have many players who can play in this position.”
Meanwhile, West Ham United Manager Slaven Bilic shared in his press conference, “We’re not going to sell our best players on the cheap just because somebody wants to sign them or they want to go.”
Marseille are believed to be the front runners for Payet’s signature, but have had two bids rejected for the French superstar.
