Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly keeping tabs on Porto ace Danilo with the intent of signing him in the near future, according to reports in A Bola.
It is reported that the Frenchman had the player watched by his scouts during his team’s match against Rio Ave over the weekend and that the north Londoners are now ready to table a bid for him.
The 25 year old, meanwhile, is believed to have a £34.5m release clause in his contract with Porto – an amount that the Gunners are understood to have no qualms about paying for him. However, Porto themselves are believed to be unwilling to part ways with the highly rated performer, and with his current contract running until the summer of 2020, Arsenal may have to toil hard in order to land him at the Emirates Stadium.
Danilo is a highly versatile player, who can play in the defensive midfield, central midfield and centre back as per the needs of his side. He is also known for his hefty physique and strength, which may make him suitable to the Premier League. Also, with the player possessing a considerable amount of big stage experience, he may well prove to be a good signing for Arsenal, should they succeed in landing him.
