Arsenal great Thierry Henry has doubts about the long term future of club star Alexis Sanchez at the Emirates Stadium.
The Frenchman was quoted telling Sky Sports: “I want him [Sanchez] to sign, everybody wants him to sign. That’s a tricky one for the club. That’s why you have guys there to be able to deal with that… If he ever leaves then you would think the likes of Bayern are going to come, Paris Saint-Germain. Maybe joining his friend [Arturo] Vidal at Bayern Munich so we’ll see. But stay… don’t listen to anyone, find a way, stay!”
Henry also went on to say that, as an Arsenal fan, he wants the Chilean ace to remain at the club, along with Mesut Ozil, for life as he is the future of the team.
Sanchez, currently, has 18 months left on his present contract with the Gunners. And while the two parties are locked in negotiations over a new deal for the player, they have been unable to reach an agreement over the same. It is understood that the cause for this is the player’s demands of £200,000-a-week in wages, as opposed to the £180,000-a-week that Arsenal are ready to offer him.
The Chilean is also known to be on the wishlist of a few unnamed Chinese clubs; however, there has been no official confirmation of a bid from any side for him so far. Nevertheless, with all the hullabaloo over his future at the club as of now, there are serious doubts over him remaining with the north Londoners in the long term.
