Arsenal hand trial to Chilean teenager hoping to follow in Sanchez’s footsteps

Arsenal have invited Chilean attacking midfielder Marcelo Allende for what is likely to be his third and final trial at the club this weekend as they lay the groundwork for signing the talented teenager.

Allende, just 17 years of age, is a product of Cobreloa, the same club that Alexis Sanchez once played for and is beginning to already show signs that he has the talent to follow in the footsteps of the senior pro he so idolizes.

While Sanchez’s future at Arsenal remains up in the air, Allende is hoping to do enough on this his third visit to the Gunners’ academy to convince the club’s coaches to make his move to Arsenal permanent.

A star who shone very brightly at the 2015 FIFA Under-17 World Cup, the diminutive playmaker is believed to have the tools required to succeed at the highest level, and it will be interesting to see if the Gunners decide to invest in the South American talent and what journey lies in store for the youngster while enquiries are made about getting him a work permit.
