With the transfer window reopening in a couple of days, it comes as no surprise that outlandish rumours start circulating the market, and the latest one concerning Arsenal to grab the headlines was talk that Liverpool were poised to swoop for England international Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The rumour grew as a result of the Reds losing superstar forward Sadio Mane for the African Cup of Nations, and their need as a result for a potent attacking threat to ensure that their title challenge does not lose momentum.
The Ox himself has had a decent season for Arsenal this time around, getting a run of games in the side and doing justice to his talent before another injury brought a halt to his progress.
With just 2 years left on his contract and no new deal on the table as yet, it comes as no surprise that the player is being linked with a move away from Arsenal, but the good news for fans of the Gunners is that there is absolutely no truth to the rumour that he will be going to Liverpool in January.
Confirming that news was Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, who shared in his press conference, “Usually I don’t say anything about transfers but I will make an exception. Nonsense.”
