Arsenal are determined to quell speculation linking star right back Hector Bellerin to Barcelona and Manchester City by preparing a new long term contract for the 21 year old Spaniard.
Bellerin has repeatedly spoken of his desire to continue to play for Arsenal and his lack of interest in returning to Barcelona, but that hasn’t quite stopped the press from continuing to link him with a move away from the Gunners in the future.
Bellerin’s agent, Albert Botines, was in London last week to discuss a new contract with Arsenal officials according to a report in the Guardian and it appears that it won’t be long before the youngster commits his immediate future to the club.
Botines said, “We are speaking and are now a lot closer than we were two weeks ago. In a normal situation he will sign… Héctor is very happy at Arsenal. This would be the fourth time he has signed a new contract at the club and it is clear he has made good progress.”
Bellerin already has 3 years left on his current contract with Arsenal, but Manager Arsene Wenger is keen to extend that deal to secure the player’s long term future.
