Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that the club will be offering loaned out midfielder Jack Wilshere a new contract this year.
Wilshere, who is spending the season out on loan at Bournemouth in the search of some much needed playing time, made just 17 appearances for Arsenal over the last two seasons combined.
The 24 year old midfielder though is a firm favourite of Manager Arsene Wenger who revealed last week that he hopes that Wilshere stays at Arsenal for the entirety of his career.
Discussing a new contract for the player, Wenger revealed over the weekend that talks with the player’s agent will commence in December.
Wenger said, “I want him to extend, yes, I think around December.”
The Arsenal boss added about his decision to send Wilshere out on loan, “When I make a decision it is in the best interests of the player and of his interest as well.”
Wilshere meanwhile is excited at having kick-started his Bournemouth career with a win. The midfielder shared in an interview after his match against West Bromwich Albion at the weekend, “I’m delighted to have joined Bournemouth on a season-long loan and would like to thank everyone at the club for making me feel so welcome. I had a good chat with the manager and feel sure that this is the best place for me to play and develop this season. I am looking forward to working hard every day with the coaching staff and my new team-mates to help the cub achieve success on the pitch.”
