Arsenal set to make a move for James Rodriguez!
Arsenal are set to make a sensational move to sign Real Madrid’s out-of-favour attacker James Rodriguez, after failing to sign Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City, according to reports in Gazzetta dello Sport. It is believed that the Colombian ace has fallen further down the pecking order recently, with manager Zinedine Zidane known to be interested in providing youngster Marco Asensio with more first team chances, and the Gunners are keen to make the most out of the opportunity by bringing him to north London.
Gunners leading race to sign Turk sensation
Arsenal are believed to have taken the lead in the pursuit of their former player, Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup, according to reports in The Metro. The 23 year old, meanwhile, is himself known to be favouring a move back to the Emirates Stadium, despite the likes of Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan also known to be hot on his trail.
And they have been boosted in the race for Mustafi too
Moving on, the Gunners have also been encouraged in their pursuit of Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi, with reports in London Evening Standard revealing that the La Liga side are looking to land Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala in the near future to act as replacement for the potentially outgoing German. Arsenal are known to have themselves become desperate to sign the World Cup winner, after losing even Gabriel to an ankle injury now.
Lyon ready to offer massive deal to Lacazette, Arsenal still keen on him
Ligue 1 giants Olympique Lyon are believed to have become increasingly desperate to hold on to their forward Alexandre Lacazette, who is understood to be a top offensive target for Arsenal this summer. According to reports in The Daily Mirror, the French side are now preparing a new contract for the player, which will enable him to earn about £70,000 a week, in order to coax him to remain with them this season.
And Inter aren’t ready to part with Icardi either
Meanwhile, the Gunners have been warned off Inter Milan sensation Mauro Icardi too, with the club’s new boss Frank de Boer making it clear that the player is not for sale this summer. He said: “We will keep the players who we do not want to sell. Icardi will remain. Mauro is young, can still learn and we will work very well together.”
Jose aims his guns at Wenger, yet again!
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho seems to have still not had enough of aiming his jibes at Arsenal patriarch Arsene Wenger and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp. Both, the Frenchman and the German, had criticized the Red Devils’ massive spending on Paul Pogba, and defending the same, the Special One quipped: “I understand that sometimes in football these things happen that the club [must] break the record. But this is only possible at clubs like Manchester United. When I heard some of the comments and some of the managers [Wenger and Klopp] criticising that, I don’t think they will ever have this problem. Because to have this problem you need to be at one of the top clubs in the world and at Manchester United this can happen.”
