Arsenal are believed to be on the brink of landing Borussia Dortmund ace Henrikh Mkhitaryan, with reports in The Sun revealing that the Armenian ace has told the north London giants that he would prefer a move to the Emirates Stadium over one to suitors Chelsea.
The 27 year old is contracted to Dortmund till the summer of 2017. And while the Bundesliga side are known to be desperate to prolong his stay at the club by making him put pen to paper on a contract extension, his agent has already indicated that the player is not in favour of doing the same and wishes to move to greener pastures – an opportunity that the Gunners are keen to make the most out of.
As a result of Mkhitaryan’s aforementioned demands, Thomas Tuchel’s side would have to sell him this summer itself in order to avoid losing him for free next year. And because of that, Arsenal now have the chance of signing the player for a bargain price of just £20m!
Mkhitaryan, who is widely regarded as one of the most technically gifted players of his position, in Europe, was in scintillating form for his club last season during the course of which he scored 23 goals and provided 32 assists in 52 appearances. He may prove to be a massively useful signing for the Gunners, going by his capability to play as a winger and an attacking midfielder and the amount of big stage experience that he possesses, and may complement the likes of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez pretty well.
