Arsenal players have traditionally been the type to tow the company line, but it appears they too are getting more than a tad restless with their own lack of success in recent times with Aaron Ramsey the latest to express his disappointment after Arsenal’s win against West Bromwich Albion today.
Ramsey, who returned to the starting line-up for today’s game and had a hand in both goals, said after the game, “We played with a lot of belief and intensity and we made a lot of chances. We haven’t been at that standard of late and we needed that level of performance for us and our fans.”
The Welsh midfielder admitted that the Gunners have been off the boil in recent games after consecutive draws against West Ham and Crystal Palace have taken the sting out of any hopes Arsenal had of mounting a title challenge.
Ramsey though attempted to look for the positives, albeit a tad ruefully, saying, “We needed that. We played with a real purpose. We have been frustrated with the way we have been playing but that is what we are capable of. It may be too little too late but we keep going.”
