Arsenal make SHOCK decision over future of immensely promising attacker

Arsenal are believed to have provided fellow Londoners West Ham United the chance to sign one of their most promising attackers – Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – according to shock reports in The Daily Mirror.

The Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is understood to be ready to offload a number of his players to make room for the introduction of new stars in the summer, and Oxlade-Chamberlain may be one of the first ones to face the axe.

The 22 year old, despite the immense talent that he possesses, has failed to be a consistent performer for the Gunners due to the string of injuries that he has suffered in recent years. He has made 33 appearances for the side this season, finding the back of the net only twice and providing as many assists.

Currently, the youngster is once again out, this time with a knee injury, which has made him doubtful for participation in Euro 2016.

Additionally, with the Englishman facing challenge from the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla, Theo Walcott and even Alex Iwobi for his position, he may find it pretty tough to break into the Gunners’ first team even after his return.

A product of Southampton’s famed youth academy, Oxalde-Chamberlain has already been advised by Saints’ legend Matt Le Tissier to move to another Premier League side (read: Southampton) for regular game time. And it seems the time is ripe now, for the youngster to bid adieu to the Emirates Stadium, and further his career somewhere else. Having said that, the fact remains that Wenger will not let the Englishman move away from the club for anything less than a substantially high price, considering the immense potential that he possesses.

  1. Time to offload all these players and start fresh – Ospina, Walcott, Giroud, Ozil, Ramsey,.. they’d get a pretty penny. Armed with that and a war-chest, its time Arsenal really turn the corner.
