Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger was full of praise for his team for their hard working display as the Gunners produced a fantastic back to the wall defensive performance to keep Bayern Munich at bay over the course of the 90 minutes, while grabbing a couple of goals against the run of play to nick the game 2-0 and keep their slim Champions League round of 16 qualification hopes alive.
Wenger shared after the game, “It was a game of top quality. We played with disciplined intensity. Both keepers made great saves. Petr Cech was a key figure. He was intelligent, everything is classy. There were two world class goalkeepers out there tonight.”
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich Manager Pep Guardiola said, “We played to control the game and create chances. I am so, so proud of how we played. We played with huge personality. We came here to close our qualification and we could not do that so we now have to go to the next game. Both keepers are amazing. It was a funny game but it’s ok.”
