Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger may be finding it hard to land the likes of Karim Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain this summer, but he certainly seems to have the option of signing a proven goal machine, who may prove to be an even more long-lasting solution to the boss’ offensive needs, than the aforementioned duo. According to reports in Tuttomercatoweb, the north Londoners are now edging closer to a move for Olympique Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette.
It is further revealed that the Ligue 1 side are themselves open to the prospect of selling the player this summer.
The 24 year old, who impressed one and all with his performances for Lyon last season, is believed to have become desperate for a move away from the club this summer. It has even been believed that the player may put in a formal transfer request in the days to come, if Lyon do not sell him soon.
Lacazette, who is a versatile and a highly talented attacker, may play an important role in helping Arsenal win titles due to his proven attribute of being a goal threat. Having said that, the fact remains that the Gunners may have to work hard to land the Frenchman, even if they agree to pay Lyon’s asking price of £28m for him, due to the fact that he is also a target for the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool this summer.
