Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reportedly made a £31.3m offer to sign long term target, Real Madrid ace Karim Benzema, according to a revelation made by Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri.
However, much to the dismay of Arsenal fans, Los Blancos, who were earlier known to be open to the prospect of holding discussions for the French forward, have now decided to end all talks pertaining to the matter.
It has been believed that Benzema may be sidelined under the reign of Rafael Benitez at the Santiago Bernabeu, with the latter understood to be wishful of playing Cristiano Ronaldo or Gareth Bale as his trademark centre forward(s). And that, in turn, has led to the Frenchman having doubts over his long term future at the club, especially with the European Championship being less than even a year away.
Meanwhile, if the Gunners fail to land Benzema this summer, it would mean a massive shock to them, especially as they have already missed out on the chance to sign the likes of their targets Jackson Martinez and Carlos Bacca, and Gonzalo Higuain and Alexandre Lacazette are also looking unlikely to move.
