Another Arsenal forward on verge of Turkish move

Merely days after Lukas Podolski’s transfer from Arsenal to Galatasaray, another Turkish side is again being linked with a move for a Gunners forward. According to reports in The Metro, Besiktas have now agreed a deal with the north London side over the prospect of signing their flop forward Joel Campbell.

It is reported that Arsene Wenger’s side have accepted a £3.5m transfer bid for the player, with him having also agreed to personal terms with the Turks.

The 23 year old has been deemed surplus to requirements at the Emirates Stadium after failing to impress the manager in his 4-year long association with the club. And with Wenger known to be ready to accept any decent bid for the player this summer, a number of clubs have come forth, showcasing an interest in signing him.

Campbell was linked with a move to the likes of Real Sociedad and Fenerbahce recently, before Besiktas boss Senol Gunes publicly revealed his wish to sign the Costa Rican striker.

Meanwhile, an official confirmation from either club, in the matter, is still awaited.
