Arsenal told to come back with a better offer for Gonzalo Higuain

Arsenal are in a tug of war with Juventus over the signature of Gonzalo Higuain and both the clubs were hoping to wrap up a deal for the Argentine for a cool £20 million, but the Real Madrid club president Florentino Perez has warned the Gunners and Juve to come back with a REAL offer if they are serious about signing the Argentine.

Real Madrid value the player at more than £25 million and will entertain nothing short of that amount to part ways with Higuain, who has already expressed his desire to leave the club this summer.

This strict adherence, by Perez, to the market valuation of the striker is probably a result of having been left frustrated in their own pursuit of stars all over Europe.

‘Let’s see if people ask us for £50m for everyone and we sell one of ours for half that,’ he added in press conference.

Real Madrid are not expected to take a decision on the striker’s future before the club appoints a new manager. Carlo Ancelotti is rumored to be the top running contender for the most prestigious job in the world of football.

In any case Arsenal look more suited to grab Higuain as a swollen transfer kitty has fashioned them capable of granting such massive funds for a world class player, a luxury that the Italian champions might find hard to afford following their greater likelihood of signing another common target in Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic.
