Guardiola wants Bayern to sign Wilshere

Bundesliga Champions Bayern Munich are out to test Arsenal’s resolve by planning a bid for their young prodigy Jack Wilshere according to reports in The Metro. The Bavarian Giants, who are going to have a new manager in Pep Guardiola at the helm, are looking to strengthen their already exceptionally powerful squad by adding a number of new high profile players this summer. Guardiola is also keen to stamp his name over the Bayern team by bringing in a few of his own preferred names to the Allianz Arena.

The former Barcelona coach is said to have become an ardent admirer of 21 year old Wilshere after his extraordinary performance against his former side, two years ago. Guardiola is also expected to be handed over an enormous transfer budget, to delve into this summer, and he would like to make no compromises with luring highly rated players to Munich.

Wilshere is rated as one of the hottest young talents in the soccer world with an enormous potential to make it big at the highest level. He has recently signed a new long term deal that would keep him at the Emirates for the next five years. But the German Champions would not hesitate to test the Gunners’ resolve by doing everything they can to lure him away from England.

Arsenal have already been reeling over the loss of stars like Cesc Fabregas, Robin Van Persie, Alex Song and Samir Nasri moving away from the Emirates in recent seasons, and Wenger would not want their home grown talent Wilshere to join the dreaded list. But the Frenchman may find it pretty tough to keep the 21 year old from getting attracted to big spending Munich, especially given Arsenal’s trophy drought seemingly refuses to end.

However, the fact that Wilshere may be forced to play second fiddle to veteran Bastian Schweinsteiger, might keep the young midfielder from a move to Munich. The Bavarian Giants already boast of a world class team and Wilshere would be a surplus to their star-studded line-up.

Wilshere has had a pretty good season, considering he has missed 17 months due to injury. The midfielder has made 32 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions this season.
